Goldman adds independent director

The board of Goldman Sachs has appointed Adebayo Ogunlesi as an independent director. Ogunlesi will join the firm's audit, risk, compensation, and corporate governance & nominating committees. Ogunlesi is the managing partner and chairman of Global Infrastructure Partners, a private equity firm which invests in infrastructure assets. From 1983 to 2006 he worked at Credit Suisse Investment Bank, including as head of global investment banking from 2002 to 2004. Goldman said that it expects to appoint an additional independent director to its board in the near term.
