Goldman CEO apologises for banker’s 1MDB involvement

CEO says staff are ‘angry and upset’ at the firm’s connection with ‘such a significant fraud’

David Solomon, chief executive of Goldman Sachs, has apologised to the Malaysian people for the involvement of one of its former bankers in the 1MDB scandal.

In his first address to analysts since he took the top job at the bank, Solomon said that it was “very clear that the people of Malaysia were defrauded by many individuals, including the highest members of the prior government”.
