The former head of energy trading at Goldman Sachs in London, who left its troubled commodities business late last year, has re-emerged at a niche company with strong ties to the Wall Street giant.

Emmanuel Clair, who spent nearly 12 years at Goldman until his departure in December, is now a trader at Hartree Partners, a commodities firm set up by a trio of Goldman energy specialists in 1997.
