The international head of human capital at Goldman Sachs in London has urged the female financiers of the future not to overlook the importance of sponsors in the early days of their careers.

Sally Boyle's comments come as the bank prepares to open its doors to the next wave of banking talent; more than 400 interns will begin an annual 10-week summer programme at Goldman Sachs' City offices next week.
