Blankfein's 2011 pay valued at $12m

The total compensation awarded to the chairman and chief executive of Goldman Sachs fell 35.5% last year

Goldman Sachs chairman and chief executive Lloyd Blankfein's total compensation for 2011 fell 35.5% to $12m as the securities firm had its least profitable year since the depths of the financial crisis.

But per the Securities and Exchange Commission's reporting requirements, Blankfein received total compensation in the year valued at $16.2m, up 14.5% from 2010.
