Goldman Sachs has shaken up its senior management team on the eve of David Solomon’s ascension to CEO, in another nod to the future direction of the storied Wall Street bank as it moves away from its roots as a fixed income powerhouse.
John Waldron, who has been co-head of the investment banking division since 2014, has been named as the firm’s president and chief operating officer. Meanwhile, Stephen Scherr, its head of consumer banking, has been installed as its new chief financial officer.
