Goldman Sachs has paused its plans to increase the number of employees in its London office, as the UK government tightened restrictions in a bid to contain a second wave of Covid-19.

The US investment bank said that its Plumtree Court London headquarters would "remain open" to those employees who "need to be in the office", but the US banking giant has pulled back from plans that has seen nearly 2,500 UK staff return on a rotational basis.
