Goldman Sachs has filled a space left by head of European mezzanine finance, Robin Doumar, by promoting Rob Gheewalla to run its mezzanine investing in Europe. Doumar quit in the summer to start his own mezzanine fund.

Mezzanine finance is a debt product, commonly used in leveraged transactions, with some of the characteristics of an equity component.
