Goldman Sachs has rehired a banker it lost to rival Barclays four years ago as part of its effort to win more business advising private companies on raising capital.

The US bank has recruited Silvia Biscaldi, who leads the UK financial institution’s fledgling European private capital markets division, according to people familiar with the move.
