Goldman Sachs has launched a new team of dealmakers to focus on the sports industry, as private equity firms and hedge fund titans invest in everything from football to rugby and baseball clubs.

The Wall Street bank has named dealmakers Dave Dase and Greg Carey as co-head of its new investment banking sports franchise, according to an internal memo seen by Financial News.
