One year on from shaking up its financial sponsors division, Goldman Sachs has dramatically increased its market share of European private equity mandates – leaving it neck and neck with JP Morgan in the race to top the 2016 advisory rankings.

Goldman leads the value rankings in the year-to-date, up from fifth in the same period in 2015, after advising on $44.9 billion of private equity-related deals, according to Dealogic. Its market share has risen 8.3 percentage points to 25.4%.
