Goldman Sachs tops Thomson M&A rankings for 2000

Goldman Sachs ranked as the world's number one mergers adviser last year, according to data compiled by Thomson Financial Securities Data, the financial information company.

Goldman topped Thomson's advisory rankings, having advised on 420 deals worth $1,284bn (€1.382 trillion). Morgan Stanley Dean Witter (MSDW) ran a close second place, with 422 deals worth $1.127 trillion.
