Goldman Sachs has become the only non-French bank to win a mandate for the restructuring of Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations (CDC), the French financial and industrial group that is mulling the sale of its consumer and investment banking units.
The French ministry confirmed on Monday night that Goldman Sachs had won a beauty contest to advise the treasury on the future of CDC. Two weeks ago CDC revealed that it had retained Lazard and Crédit Agricole Indosuez as investment banking advisers.
