Once again someone from Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB) has won the silverware at the Mantis Prime Broking Golf Challenge laid on by the headhunter at Burhill Golf Club in Surrey. John Vaughn, the bank's head of Asian securities trading, beat competitors from UBS, Lehman Brothers, Bank of America, Citigroup, Morgan Stanley, Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, BNP Paribas and Barclays Capital.
However, bosses at CSFB are hoping history does not repeat itself. The bank's excitement at Mark Schilling's victory in last year's inaugural event was soon tempered when he was headhunted to Lehman Brothers. So management must have received the news of Vaughn's triumph in this year's contest with a little trepidation.
