Google sets IPO deadline

Google, the internet search engine, has set 5pm New York time on Thursday as the cut-off time for potential investors to register for its $3.47bn (€2.8bn) initial public offering.

While Google had not set out a firm timetable in its filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission filing, there had been increasing speculation of delay after it failed to price on Tuesday as some bankers had expected.
