Google to launch into adverse new issues environment

Google, the internet search firm preparing to go public this week, is facing tough market conditions in which nearly two thirds of this year's US initial public offerings are trading below their issue price.

The difficult environment adds to the challenge for Google, whose $3.47bn (€2.8bn) IPO is already clouded in controversy over a magazine interview given during a "quiet period" and accusations of illegal share dealings.
