Gottex, the $5bn (€4bn) fund of hedge-funds manager, has hired Steve Oristaglio, the former head of investments at troubled mutual fund company Putnam who left in February.

Oristaglio will join Gottex as chief executive officer of Gottex Structured Products, an arm of the company that facilitates investment by insurance companies and other investors subject to regulatory restrictions.
