The UK will have offered coronavirus vaccines to 15 million people – frontline workers, the most vulnerable and the eldest – by mid-February, the minister in charge of the country’s vaccination programme Nadhim Zahawi said.

Zahawi’s comments come as England’s chief medical officer Chris Whitty warned that the country was at “the worst point of this epidemic”.
