Government rejects ban on NDAs in sexual harassment cases

Move comes despite calls from MPs to ban legal threats after uncovering ‘shocking’ prevalence of sexism in the City

The UK government has refused to ban non-disclosure agreements in sexual harassment cases, despite calls to do so from MPs and senior women in finance following a string of high-profile incidents in the City.

The Treasury Committee called for the legal contracts, which are commonplace in finance, to be banned after its Sexism in the City inquiry found a “shocking” prevalence of sexism and misogyny in the industry.
