Staff at boutique investment bank Greenhill have contributed over one-fifth of the $102m (€80m) raised for the firm's first venture capital fund, in a bid to align the company's interests with those of its investors.
Greenhill has committed $11m of the capital raised, while the firm's managing directors and other staff have committed an additional $22m. The firm had raised $80m by the fund's first close in March. The capital was raised from a variety of institutional and strategic investors, wealthy families and qualified corporate executives.
