Growth surge in the UK and Europe sets the scene as MBAs hit the ground running

Explosion of courses attracts candidates keen to take a career gamble but standards can vary

It is boom-time for MBAs in the UK and Europe. This is especially true for the UK, where the Association of MBAs claims that the current output of over 9,000 MBA graduates a year is more than the rest of Europe put together.

Mikkel Hofstee, head of MBA recruitment at ABN Amro, explains: &quotThe demand for MBAs has doubled because of increased economic growth. The good thing about MBAs is that they hit the ground running and are also extremely eager to start working as soon as they have completed their courses.&quot
