Founder of Blackstone credit unit to stand down

Bennett Goodman is the last of GSO’s three founders to leave the group

Bennett Goodman, one of the founders of private equity company Blackstone’s $139bn credit unit, is leaving to set up his own family office.

Goodman, 62, founded GSO in 2005 alongside Tripp Smith and Douglas Ostrover. All three had previously worked at the investment bank Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, which later which became part of Credit Suisse.
