GUS, the UK retail and business services company, has confirmed plans to float its Burberry fashion unit by the middle of next year, despite the downturn in the luxury goods sector.
The firm said in its first half trading statement: "It remains the group's intention to arrange a partial initial public offering for Burberry by June 2002, subject to market conditions."
