Guy Hands, the chairman of U.K. buyout firm Terra Firma, has signed a deal to buy the Nordic operations of fast food chain McDonald’s.

As part of the deal, McDonald's will 'transfer its ownership interest' to Mr. Hands, who will become a 'strategic partner'.
