Hackers tapped a bonanza of data for traders, US says

After burrowing into the computer systems of companies that distribute news releases in 2010, a Ukrainian hacker needed a way to advertise his illegal haul to potential customers, authorities say. His solution: a video.

The flashy pitch, which featured an image of a computer tapping into a business wire's servers, attracted the attention of stock traders halfway around the world, in Pennsylvania, Georgia and New York, US officials said.
