Haitong Bank, which was formed after the Chinese takeover of the investment banking arm of Banco Espírito Santo, has announced its latest senior hire as it continues a major build-up of its investment banking capabilities in London.

Christian Thun-Hohenstein, the former European head of investment banking at Nomura, is joining the firm to lead investment banking in the UK, the company said.
