Around half of Europe's financial services chief executives are eyeing mergers or acquisitions over the next year, according to EY's latest market survey, as signs that the deal drought is ending continue to emerge.

Some 94% of respondents said they foresee strategic transactions in the coming year, and 56% of those said they are looking at M&A.
