Private equity asset manager Hamilton Lane is set to buy Paul Capital, the fund of funds manager that sought a sale after its latest fundraising effort stalled, said two people with knowledge of the matter.

Once the deal is completed, it will be the latest in a string of consolidation plays within the private equity investor universe.
