Hargreaves Lansdown has missed out on being an outright market leader by failing to reinvest in the business, according to a former director at the fund supermarket.

Mark Dampier, the investment platform giant's ex-research director, said the FTSE 250 firm should have “forged way ahead” of rivals such as AJ Bell and Fidelity.
