Collins Stewart has reaped a quick reward from its acquisition of independent corporate finance boutique Hawkpoint, which boosted half-year profits at the UK broker after turning in a record performance.

In its first interim results since it bought Hawkpoint for around £150m (€216m) last December, Collins Stewart said operating profits rose 3% to £40.5m in the six months to the end of June.
