Corporate finance house Hawkpoint Partners has bought Hydra Associates, an independent UK strategic advisory firm specialising in media and entertainment.

Hydra is led by its founder John Cummins who now becomes a vice-chairman of Hawkpoint and head of the firm's business in the media sector. His four colleagues will move with him.
