Haymarket Financial, the European mid-market debt specialist set up with the backing of transatlantic private equity firm Towerbrook Capital Partners, has closed its maiden special opportunities credit fund oversubscribed at its hard cap, according to a person familiar with the situation.

The Haymarket Financial Special Opportunities Credit Fund has closed with commitments of €1.35bn, exceeding its €750m target, the person said.
