Head of capital markets quits Lazard

Charles Stonehill, the global head of capital markets at Lazard, is leaving the firm after two years to pursue other interests outside investment banking and has effectively retired from the industry.

In the past two years Stonehill has led the charge in building up a capital markets business at Lazard in addition to its traditional advisory business under Bruce Wasserstein, chairman, and Charles Ward, president of the Lazard.
