Stephen Whittaker, head of UK equities at Invesco Perpetual's Henley office, has quit to join John Duffield's New Star investment management firm.

Whittaker arrived at Invesco as part of its recent purchase of Henley-based Perpetual. He was handed partnership status at Invesco's owner Amvescap in order to secure his continued loyalty.
