NHS hospitals struggling to cope with rising ‘bed blocking’ statistics could have an unlikely ally: a $15bn hedge fund.

London-based Cheyne Capital has laid out plans to tackle hospital bed shortages by buying up surplus government-owned land and leasing it to ‘step-down’ care centres.
