Hedge funds to face full fee disclosure by July

Fees charged by private equity and hedge funds are to be examined by the FCA at the same time as those of mainstream fund houses

Hedge funds and private equity firms will be immediately dragged into the work being conducted by the Financial Conduct Authority to ensure companies managing money on behalf of millions of UK workplace pension savers disclose previously hidden charges.

The FCA panel undertaking the work said today it will examine private equity firms and hedge funds in parallel with the mainstream investment industry, and wants to have both investigations wrapped up by July.
