Hedge funds are reticent about inclusion in index

Hedge funds are holding back from joining the MSCI hedge fund index because of the exposure it provides to funds' historical returns.

Accredited investors can use the index to access hedge fund data recorded in the MSCI database, holding information on around 2,800 funds. They may analyse funds' progression in various categories, across sectors or asset classes, and view historical returns.
