Tom Heffernan, managing director and head of risk management at Tokyo-Mitsubishi International, has become the first non-Japanese executive director on the firm's board.
Heffernan, who has been with Tokyo-Mitsubishi since June 1998, said: "My appointment shows the strength and international scope of the firm." He added that it also demonstrates the "high priority Tokyo-Mitsubishi puts on risk management".
