Heidrick & Struggles, the global executive search firm, has hired Kevin Smith as its chief financial officer (CFO). He was most recently CFO of True North Communications, an advertising and marketing services company.

Smith replaces Donald Kilinski, Heidrick's CFO since 1997, who said last October that he would be leaving the company at the end of the year.
