City veteran Dame Helena Morrissey has joined the list of possible successors to Mark Carney as governor of the Bank of England — an appointment that would make her the first woman in the central bank’s more than 300-year history to hold the top job.
Morrissey, who is head of personal investing at Legal & General Investment Management, is one of nine candidates that have been interviewed for the post, according to the Mail on Sunday which first reported her application.
