Executive who helped bed in the New Star and Gartmore businesses over her 13 years at the £81.5bn asset manager is expected to join another firm

The chief operating officer of £81.5 billion UK-listed asset manager Henderson Global Investors has stepped down and is expected to move to another firm.

A Henderson spokesman confirmed that Lesley Cairney is leaving the company, where she is a member of the executive committee led by chief executive Andrew Formica. People who know Cairney said she is to take a similar position at Artemis, the asset management boutique.
