For 20-somethings chasing big money in investment banking, it pays to go to the Big Apple.

Investment banks have been hiking salaries over the past three months in a bid to stem an exodus of junior bankers as brutal working weeks have stretched into 100-hours, leading to complaints from those at the bottom rung of the career ladder.
