Herrington takes the FSA hot seat

Tim Herrington, a financial services partner at law firm Clifford Chance, has become the new chairman of the regulatory decisions committee at the Financial Services Authority, the UK markets regulator.

The committee is a vital component of the FSA's regulatory mechanism and the chairman's position has been vacant for five months since Christopher Fitzgerald resigned in June.
