Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst demotes NY operation

Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst, the global private equity firm, has in a surprise move relegated its New York operation to a satellite role and is focusing its business instead on its Dallas and London offices.

The move is part of a extensive restructuring of its business, which has led to it abandoning plans for a second Latin American fund due to lack of investor interest in the region, and in favour of opportunities in the US and Europe.
