Sir Derek Higgs, author of the UK government-sponsored report on corporate governance, is understood to be in talks with Nicola Horlick about joining the board of her new Bramdean fund management company.

It is likely that Higgs will become Bramdean's non-executive chairman if the talks are successful. He holds several non-executive positions, including advising investment bank UBS.
