High Court says UK needs Parliament to vote on Article 50

The City on Thursday prepared itself for a fresh wave of uncertainty surrounding Brexit after the UK’s High Court threw the government’s plans into disarray by ruling that MPs must vote on triggering Article 50.

The pound shot to its highest level since early October after the court said that the government cannot unilaterally pull the Brexit trigger in a constitutionally-unprecedented move.
