HSBC boosts Latin America coverage

HSBC has added four equity analysts to its Latin America research team for the regional metals, mining and energy sectors. Luiz Carvalho has joined as a vice president responsible for covering the Latin America oil, gas, and petrochemicals sectors. Based in Sao Paulo, he was previously an energy analyst at BTG Pactual. Filipe Gouveia has joined as an associate, from Barclays, to support Carvalho in oil and gas research. Also in Sao Paolo, Leonardo Correa has joined as a senior vice president responsible for covering the Latin America metals & mining sector. Previously he was an analyst and the regional sector head at Barclays. Jonathan Brandt switches from his current Latin America metals & mining role, and will lead the firm's coverage of the pulp & paper sector in Latin America and Eastern Europe, Middle East, & Africa.
