HSBC Investments, the asset management arm of the financial services group, has appointed Bruce Pflug as managing director and head of institutional business development.

The position has been created as part of HSBC's increased focus over the past 10 months on its investment management business in the US and Europe. Pflug will be based at the company's New York office.
