The head of technology at HSBC's investment banking division has resigned from the bank for personal reasons, according to an internal memo seen by Financial News.

Sumeet Chabria, chief information officer at HSBC's global banking and markets unit, will return to the US in the next few weeks, where his family is based and where he held senior roles for a number of years.
