HSBC commits up to $1trn for climate change shift

HSBC joins a host of lenders using their financial weight to meet Paris climate change goals

HSBC will provide up to $1trn in financing for clients to shift away from environmentally unfriendly practices over the next 10 years, as large lenders increasingly use their financial heft to push companies towards climate change goals.

The UK lender has joined a host of other large banks in pledging huge sums to help clients align with the Paris climate accord to achieve net zero emissions by 2050 or sooner.
